From 2020 to 2023, Somerset West & Taunton council employed us as a creative industries and cultural development specialist to help deliver on their cultural strategy and assisting them with understanding its impact.

In 2022 we created a county wide conference with national agencies for Somerset Arts Business Cultural Alliance to address the changes within the arts and cultural sector and what impact this would have on industry.

Between 2017-2019 we worked on £1m Arts Council 'Creative Local Growth' fund & ERDF project as business lead for arts and culture and creative industries project in Dorset, Bournemouth & Poole to develop creative sector.

Working with South West partners and Somerset County Council we helped develop a three year technology adoption, digital skills, and business advice service for the county of Somerset, and delivered front-line services.

Using design and innovation EU funding we created a 'sustainable design' programme for designers culminating to a national conference, workshops and more. Partners included universities, businesses, gov and trade agencies.

Supporting Plymouth University and Somerset County Council we delivered business innovation programmes and business workshops for regional businesses. All sectors shown how innovation culture can be used.

Utilising business networks we created a new set of short networking meetings and workshops for the design community. Creating new dialogue between business providers and agencies to develop leadership in the sector.

In 2005 we help create the first design network in the South West and from that came county and regional based networks. These networks obtained funding to deliver design business support services throughout the region.

Along with Creative Innovation Centre we were commissioned to develop a new digital network for Taunton Deane and research needs of the creative industries. This was used to inform policy and creative industries investment.

For 3 years we provided business incubation services for young creative start-ups at Somerset College creative industries incubation centre. Providing business support and nurturing businesses to succeed.

Working with Somerset Film we developed drop-in mentoring sessions for local creative companies. This service was also used to develop a mentoring service for our employed role in a Dorset wide business support service.

Along with Creative Innovation Centre CIC we developed an innovative youth audience research project funded by the Arts Council. Partners included universities, colleges, schools, businesses and town centre management companies.

The local LEP (Devon & Somerset) had no creative industries policy or strategy, which affected investment and funding. We helped create a dialogue between LEP, businesses and higher education to create a new policy and strategy.

A district council wanted to find out the arts and culture habits and choices of local people and commissioned us to research this. Through surveys and marketing the results helped the council understand investment needs.

Somerset County Council wanted a better website and more involvement with departments. After interviewing department heads and conducting a online communications audit our recommendations are used in the website today.
